The Telangana Public Service Commission has issued Notification No. 01/OG/PC/2026 for the recruitment of Assistant Scientist (Analyst Grade-II) posts in the Telangana Pollution Control Board. Educational Qualification

Age Limit
The age will be calculated as on 1 July 2026. The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 34 years. This means candidates should not be born after 1 July 2008 for minimum age eligibility and should not be born before 2 July 1992 for the maximum age condition.

Application Fee and Examination Fee
The online application processing fee is Rs. 1,000 for OC and BC applicants, while SC, ST and PwD applicants have to pay Rs. 500. In addition, each applicant must pay Rs. 80 as examination fee unless exempted. All unemployed applicants are exempted from the examination fee, but government employees, including those working in Central, State, PSU, Corporation or other government sectors, must pay it.
The fee must be paid online through the payment gateway. Candidates should note that the fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted under any circumstances.
Exam Pattern for TPCB Assistant Scientist 2026
The written examination will be objective type and may be conducted either through OMR-based offline mode or Computer Based Recruitment Test mode. The Commission may also apply normalization if the computer-based test is conducted in multiple sessions.

A major exam-relevant area is Environmental Pollution and Control Technologies. Candidates should focus on air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, noise pollution, solid waste management, wastewater treatment, air pollution control technologies, bioremediation, climate change, ozone depletion, deforestation and desertification. Since the recruitment is for the Pollution Control Board, this section should receive special attention.
Selection Process and Qualifying Marks
Selection will be based on marks secured in the written examination. The minimum qualifying marks are 40 percent for OC, Sportspersons and EWS candidates, 35 percent for BC candidates, and 30 percent for SC, ST and PH candidates. However, merely securing minimum qualifying marks does not guarantee selection. Final selection depends on merit, reservation rules, vacancy availability, document verification and medical fitness.
