The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board has released the TSLPRB ASI Fingerprint Bureau Recruitment 2026 notification for 23 vacancies in the Telangana Police Department. The recruitment is being conducted for the post of Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Assistant Sub Inspector, Fingerprint Bureau, under Post Code 33.
Both men and women are eligible to apply, subject to satisfying the prescribed age, educational qualification, physical and medical standards. Applications will be accepted through online mode only on the official TSLPRB recruitment website.
The notification was issued on July 29, 2026. The opening date and last date for submitting online applications have not yet been announced. TSLPRB will release the complete application schedule separately through a press release.

The 23 ASI Fingerprint Bureau vacancies have been distributed across seven zones under two Contiguous Zonal Cadres. Zone VI–Charminar has the highest number of vacancies, with seven posts.

TSLPRB has clarified that the number of vacancies is tentative and may be changed during the recruitment process.
TSLPRB ASI FPB eligibility criteria
Age limit
Candidates must have completed 21 years and must not have completed 25 years as on July 1, 2026.
The Telangana government has also increased the upper age limit for direct recruitment to uniformed services by five years. This relaxation is in addition to the prescribed upper age limit. Accordingly, the general upper age limit effectively extends to 30 years, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.
Further age relaxation is available to eligible categories:
- Telangana State Government employees: Length of regular service, subject to a maximum of five years.
- Ex-servicemen: Three years in addition to the eligible length of service in the Armed Forces.
- NCC instructors: Three years in addition to the eligible length of service as an NCC instructor.
- SC, ST, BC and EWS candidates: Five years.
Educational qualification
Candidates must possess an eligible degree from a recognised university or institution on or before July 29, 2026.
The prescribed qualifications include:
- B.E. or B.Tech in Information Technology.
- B.E. or B.Tech in Computer Science.
- Computer Science specialisation in Artificial Intelligence.
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- Data Science.
- Networks.
- Cyber Security.
- Internet of Things.
- B.Sc in Computer Science.
- B.Sc in Computer Application.
- Any other qualification recognised as equivalent.
Candidates possessing a higher qualification than the prescribed qualification will also be considered on par, provided they can establish their eligibility with valid certificates.
The degree certificate, provisional certificate or consolidated marks memorandum proving completion of the entire course must be produced during certificate verification. The relevant qualification must have been obtained on or before the notification date.
Physical Efficiency Test and measurement standards
Candidates submitting the Part-II application will be required to participate in the Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test. They must first qualify in the running event before proceeding to height measurement, long jump and shot-put.

Long jump and shot-put are qualifying in nature. TSLPRB will conduct the PMT and PET only once for eligible posts covered under multiple notifications issued within the specified three-month period.
Selection process
There is no Preliminary Written Test for the SCT Assistant Sub Inspector, Fingerprint Bureau post. Candidates will have to complete the following stages:
- Submission of the Part-I online application.
- Submission of the Part-II application and supporting documents.
- Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test.
- Written examination consisting of three papers.
- Certificate verification.
- Medical examination and antecedent verification.
- Final selection and induction training.
Appearance in every prescribed examination and test is compulsory. Absence from any stage will result in disqualification. Requests for postponement or reconsideration of the physical tests will not be accepted.
Written examination pattern
Candidates who qualify in the physical tests will be called for a written examination consisting of three papers. Each paper will be conducted for three hours.

Paper I is qualifying in nature. Marks obtained in Paper I will not be included while preparing the final merit list. Final selection will be based on the combined marks secured in Paper II and Paper III.
The minimum qualifying marks in each paper are:
- OC and EWS candidates: 40 per cent.
- BC candidates: 35 per cent.
- SC, ST and ex-servicemen: 30 per cent.
Part A of Paper I carries negative marking. For an incorrect or invalid response, 25 per cent of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
Technical paper syllabus
Paper III carries 200 marks and will play a major role in the preparation of the final merit list. The technical syllabus includes computer hardware, computer architecture, memory systems, storage devices, computer peripherals, operating systems, Windows administration and database management.
Candidates must also prepare application software topics such as MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Aspirants should follow the complete syllabus provided in Annexure I of the official notification while preparing for the examination.
How to apply for TSLPRB ASI Fingerprint Bureau recruitment
Applications must be submitted online through the TSLPRB website at tgprb.in. Candidates will have to register using their mobile number, which will function as their user ID throughout the recruitment process.
After registration, candidates must select the relevant notification and post, pay the applicable fee and complete the Part-I application. They must upload a combined image containing their recent passport-size photograph and specimen signature.
The combined photograph and signature file must be in JPG or JPEG format. Its size must be between 30 KB and 100 KB. Applications containing a photograph without a signature will be rejected.
Candidates must later submit the Part-II application and upload the required certificates before appearing for the physical tests. TSLPRB will announce the Part-II submission dates separately.
Applicants should verify every detail carefully before final submission because corrections will not be permitted after the application is submitted.
Application fee
The official notification does not mention a fixed application fee amount. The amount payable will be displayed in the online application portal based on the candidate's category and the number of posts selected.
Local SC and ST candidates of Telangana will be eligible for the prescribed concessional fee. Candidates applying for more than one eligible TSLPRB notification can receive a rebate because the physical tests will be conducted only once.
- Local Telangana SC and ST candidates will receive a rebate of ₹50 for each additional notification.
- Other candidates will receive a rebate of ₹100 for each additional notification.
The application fee will not be refunded if an ineligible candidate applies or fails to complete and submit the application correctly.
Reservation and local candidature
Reservations will apply to eligible BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D, BC-E, SC, ST, EWS, ex-servicemen and Meritorious Sports Person candidates in accordance with the applicable Telangana service rules.
A horizontal reservation of 33⅓ per cent is provided for women in each category, including EWS.
The notification states that 95 per cent of vacancies in the respective zones will be filled by eligible local candidates. Candidates claiming local status must produce study certificates covering Classes I to VII or an eligible residence certificate, as applicable.
BC candidates seeking reservation must produce a valid Non-Creamy Layer Certificate issued on or after April 1, 2026. EWS candidates must produce the prescribed Income and Asset Certificate issued by a competent Telangana authority.
Medical standards
Candidates must meet the prescribed medical fitness standards. The notification requires distant vision of 6/6 in both eyes, full field of vision and freedom from colour blindness, squint and other disqualifying eye conditions.
Applicants must also be in sound health and free from bodily defects or medical conditions that would make them unsuitable for the post. Candidates have been advised to undergo an examination by a civil surgeon before applying.
