The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board has released the TSLPRB Police Constable Recruitment 2026 notification for 7,112 vacancies across the Telangana Police, Special Protection Force, Fire Services and Prisons departments.
The recruitment includes SCT Police Constable Civil, Armed Reserve, SAR CPL, Special Protection Force Constable, Fire Fighter, Male Warder and Female Warder posts. Selected candidates will be appointed in the pay scale of ₹24,280 to ₹72,850 after completing the prescribed selection process and training.
The notification was issued on July 29, 2026. The opening and closing dates for online applications have not yet been announced. TSLPRB will release the application schedule separately through an official press release.

The vacancy total includes direct recruitment posts and limited recruitment backlog vacancies in certain categories. TSLPRB has stated that the notified vacancy numbers are tentative and may be modified during the recruitment process.
Where are the vacancies available?
Police Constable Civil and Armed Reserve vacancies have been distributed across 26 Police Districts and Commissionerates in Telangana. The Fire Fighter vacancies have been distributed district-wise across the state.
Warder vacancies have been distributed through Contiguous District Cadres, while the Special Protection Force vacancies are notified under the SPF unit. Candidates should examine the district-wise and unit-wise tables in the official notification before selecting their preferences.

TSLPRB Police Constable age limit
Candidates applying for Post Codes 21 to 23 and 25 to 28 must have completed 18 years and must not have completed 22 years as on July 1, 2026.
The Telangana government has raised the upper age limit for direct recruitment to uniformed services by five years. This relaxation is in addition to the prescribed upper age limit. Accordingly, the general upper age limit is effectively extended to 27 years, subject to the conditions stated in the notification.
Age limit for eligible Home Guards
A person claiming eligibility under the Home Guard category must have been on duty as a Home Guard for at least 360 days within a period of two years and must still be continuing in service.
Such candidates must be between 18 and 40 years as on July 1, 2026. The five-year increase provided for uniformed-service recruitment is in addition to this upper age limit, subject to the official conditions.
Age limit for widows, divorced women and judicially separated women
Women applying for eligible posts who are widowed, divorced or judicially separated and have not remarried are entitled to the prescribed special age provisions.
- SC and ST women: The prescribed age range is 18 to 40 years as on July 1, 2026, along with the additional five-year uniformed-service relaxation.
- Other eligible women: The prescribed age range is 18 to 35 years as on July 1, 2026, along with the additional five-year relaxation.
Widows must submit the husband's death certificate and a notarised affidavit confirming that they have not remarried. Divorced or judicially separated women must submit the relevant court judgment or decree and a notarised affidavit confirming that they have not remarried.

Employees of TS TRANSCO, DISCOMs, TS GENCO, the State Road Transport Corporation, municipalities, local bodies, public sector undertakings and other Telangana corporations are not covered under the age relaxation available to eligible State Government employees.
Educational qualification
Candidates must have passed Intermediate or an examination recognised as equivalent by the Telangana government as on July 29, 2026.
The Intermediate pass certificate, memorandum of marks or an equivalent certificate proving the qualification must be produced during certificate verification. Candidates must have obtained the qualification on or before the notification date.
Candidates possessing a higher qualification will also be considered on par with those possessing the prescribed qualification, provided they satisfy all other eligibility conditions.
Additional qualification for Fire Fighter posts
Candidates applying for Post Code 26, Fire Fighter, must possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle driving licence as on July 29, 2026.
They must produce valid driving-licence information relating to the grant or issue of the licence from the concerned Regional Transport Authority during certificate verification.
TSLPRB selection process
The recruitment process will consist of the following stages:
- Submission of the Part-I online application.
- Preliminary Written Test.
- Submission of the Part-II application by qualified candidates.
- Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test.
- Final Written Examination.
- Certificate verification.
- Medical examination and antecedent verification.
- Final selection and induction training.
Candidates must appear for every prescribed test and examination. Absence from any stage will result in automatic disqualification. Requests for postponement or reconsideration of the PMT or PET will not be entertained.

Preliminary test qualifying marks
- OC and EWS candidates: 30 per cent.
- BC candidates: 25 per cent.
- SC, ST, ex-servicemen and Home Guard candidates: 20 per cent.
The Preliminary Written Test carries negative marking. An incorrect or invalid response will attract a negative mark equal to 20 per cent of the marks assigned to that question.
Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Written Test will be invited to submit the Part-II application and participate in the physical tests.

The run is qualifying in nature for Police Constable Civil, Fire Fighter, Male Warder and Female Warder posts.
For Armed Reserve, SAR CPL and Special Protection Force Constable posts, marks will be awarded for performance in the running event. The notification also provides for normalisation of running marks for Armed Reserve and SPF candidates while preparing the final merit list.

Long jump and shot-put are qualifying in nature. The PMT and PET will be conducted only once for candidates applying for multiple eligible posts covered by TSLPRB notifications issued within the specified three-month period.
Final Written Examination pattern
Candidates who qualify in the physical tests must appear for one Final Written Examination paper of three hours' duration.

The Final Written Examination will be objective and OMR-based. Questions will be available in English–Telugu and English–Urdu.
Final examination qualifying marks
- OC and EWS candidates: 40 per cent.
- BC candidates: 35 per cent.
- SC, ST and ex-servicemen: 30 per cent.
Securing the minimum qualifying marks does not automatically provide a right to selection. Final selection will be based on post-wise merit rules, reservation provisions and verification of eligibility.
How will the final merit list be prepared?
For Police Constable Civil posts, final selection will be made based on relative merit in the Final Written Examination. The notification states that 95 per cent of Civil Constable vacancies in each Police District or Commissionerate will be filled by eligible local candidates of that district or commissionerate.
For Armed Reserve, SAR CPL and Special Protection Force posts, performance in the running event may also form part of the post-specific final merit calculation, as detailed in the official notification.
Candidates should carefully review the final-selection rules applicable to their chosen post code. When two or more candidates in the same category obtain equal marks, the tie-breaking provisions prescribed in the notification will be applied.
How to apply for TSLPRB recruitment 2026
Applications must be submitted online through the official TSLPRB website at www.tgprb.in. Candidates must first register using their mobile number, which will function as their user ID throughout the recruitment process.
After registration, candidates must select the eligible posts, pay the applicable fee and complete the Part-I online application.
A combined image containing a recent passport-size photograph and specimen signature must be uploaded. The image must be in JPG format and should be between 30 KB and 100 KB.
An application containing a photograph without a signature will be rejected. Payment of the application fee alone does not complete the process. Candidates must press the final submit button and download their submitted application form.
Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Written Test must return to the portal and complete the Part-II application. They will also be required to upload the prescribed certificates and indicate their post and unit preferences.
Post preferences and unit options submitted in the Part-II application will be treated as final. Corrections will not be permitted after submission.
Application fee and rebate
The notification does not mention a fixed application fee amount. The payable amount will be displayed on the online portal based on the candidate's category and the posts selected.
Local SC and ST candidates of Telangana will be eligible for the prescribed concessional fee. Candidates applying for more than one eligible TSLPRB post or notification can receive a rebate because the PMT and PET will be conducted only once.
- Local Telangana SC and ST candidates: ₹50 rebate for each additional post.
- Other candidates: ₹100 rebate for each additional post or notification.
The fee may be paid through credit card, debit card, net banking or another payment mode provided on the TSLPRB website.
Reservation for women
Women are provided horizontal reservation in eligible posts as follows:
- Police Constable Civil: 33⅓ per cent in each category, including EWS.
- Special Protection Force Constable: 33⅓ per cent.
- Fire Fighter: 33⅓ per cent.
- Police Constable Armed Reserve: 10 per cent under direct recruitment.
The notification separately provides 12 vacancies for Female Warders under Post Code 28. SAR CPL and Male Warder posts are open only to men.
Reservation and special categories
Reservation provisions apply to eligible BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D, BC-E, SC, ST, EWS, ex-servicemen and Meritorious Sports Person candidates in accordance with the applicable rules.
Special-category reservations are available only to local candidates of Telangana. The categories mentioned in the notification include:
- National Cadet Corps
- Home Guards
- Children of Police Personnel
- Children of Deceased and Incapacitated Police Personnel
- Children of Prisons Department Personnel
- Children of Special Protection Force Personnel
- Children of Fire Services personnel
These special reservations will be adjusted horizontally within the candidate's respective social category.
Local-candidate reservation
Local-candidate reservation will be implemented according to the Telangana Public Employment Order and the applicable government rules.
Candidates claiming local status must produce study certificates covering Classes I to VII. A residence certificate may be accepted in cases where the candidate did not study in a recognised educational institution during the relevant period, subject to the conditions in the notification.
BC, SC and ST candidates who are not local to Telangana are not entitled to the corresponding reservation benefits under this notification.
Documents required
Candidates should keep the following documents ready, wherever applicable:
- SSC or Matriculation certificate as proof of date of birth.
- Intermediate certificate and memorandum of marks.
- Valid LMV driving licence and RTA licence information for Fire Fighter applicants.
- Latest community certificate.
- SC certificate containing Group I, Group II or Group III sub-classification.
- BC Non-Creamy Layer Certificate issued on or after April 1, 2026.
- EWS Income and Asset Certificate issued on or after April 1, 2026.
- Study, bonafide or residence certificates for local candidature.
- Agency Area certificate for eligible ST and Aboriginal Tribe candidates claiming height relaxation.
- Service certificate for eligible Telangana State Government employees.
- NCC instructor certificate, where applicable.
- Home Guard and other special-category certificates.
- Ex-servicemen documents such as the Pension Payment Order, discharge book or No Objection Certificate.
- Meritorious Sports Person certificate, where applicable.
- Death certificate, court decree and notarised affidavit for eligible women claiming special age relaxation.
Medical standards
Candidates must possess distant vision of 6/6 in both eyes and near vision of 0/5 in each eye. Each eye must have a full field of vision.
Colour blindness, squint or a morbid condition of either eye or eyelid will be treated as a disqualification. Applicants must also be in sound health and free from bodily defects or medical conditions that would make them unsuitable for the post.
Candidates have been advised to undergo an examination by a civil surgeon before applying to confirm that they meet the prescribed physical and medical standards.
