Cracking General Studies
General Studies (GS) makes up 50% of your Preliminary exam and constitutes an entire 200-mark paper (Paper IV) in the SI Final Written Exam. Because the syllabus is so vast, many aspirants get lost. The secret is knowing what to prioritize.
1. The Telangana Core (High Priority)
TSLPRB highly favors local history. You must master the Telangana Movement and State Formation (1948-2014). Pay special attention to the Mulki Rules, the 1969 agitation, and the final phase of the movement.

2. Indian Polity & Constitution
Questions here are usually direct. Focus on:
- Fundamental Rights and Duties
- Directive Principles of State Policy
- The President, Parliament, and Governor
- Panchayati Raj and Municipalities
3. Current Affairs & Science
You need a solid grasp of events from the past 12 months. Pay special attention to Awards, Sports, and International Summits. For Science, focus on "everyday observation"—basic vitamins, diseases, space technology (ISRO missions), and environmental issues.
